Today, following its December plenary meeting, the EU’s Article 29 Working Party issued a press release about the implementation of the EU GDPR, the implementation of Privacy Shield, and also issued the following much-awaited guidelines on certain aspects of GDPR:
- Guidelines and FAQs on Data Protection Officers;
- Guidelines and FAQs on the Lead Supervisory Authority; and,
- Guidelines and FAQs on the Right to Data Portability.
The WP29 is also inviting comments from stakeholders that they may have on the guidelines, which must be sent by the end of January 2017 to the following addresses: JUST-ARTICLE29WP-SEC@ec.europa.eu and presidenceg29@cnil.fr
The guidance, FAQs and press release can be found here: http://ec.europa.eu/newsroom/just/item-detail.cfm?item_id=50083
We will write more extensively about the guidance in due course.
