In this episode of Life with GDPR, Jonathan and Tom talk about a ruling on 10 November 2023 in the Federal Court of Australia relating to litigation over the Singtel Optus data breach in 2022. The action is on behalf of around 100,000 claimants who want to see a report produced by Deloitte into the breach. Jonathan and Tom talk about privilege and why it is important to make sure that your CEO rehearses a data breach and is a fully briefed member of the team. The Singtel Optus CEO, Kelly Bayer-Rosmarin, resigned shortly after this podcast went live.
