Since early 2014 the EU has imposed various sanctions with regard to Russia in connection with the situation in the Ukraine and the Crimea under a raft of different measures. Due to the continuing lack of improvement in the situation these sanctions have undergone expansion and renewal.
Sectoral sanctions and sanctions specifically concerning the Crimea were renewed this July and this month under recently adopted EU legislation the entries for 149 listed individuals and 1 entity have been updated with sanctions with regard to them extended until 15 March 2016 (and 1 individual has been delisted).
We have earlier reported on sanctions concerning Russia, most recently here which also summarises the current EU sanctions regime with regard to Russia and the Ukraine.
