Today’s BREXIT vote clearly has considerable ramifications for the UK but what does it mean for compliance?
In the short-term the change will be minimal. Longer term there is likely to be lots to do on the separation and with the UK putting bilateral agreements in place to replace current EU deals. UK politicians have talked this morning of a 6 month scoping exercise as the work on separation starts. Much depends on the new Government with the announcement of the Prime Minister’s resignation this morning so it is hard to predict what will happen. That said we have put together a client briefing covering some of the areas we think will need consideration including:
- GDPR and data protection
- Data security
- Bribery & corruption
- Corruption/anti-trust
- Product liability
- Chemicals regulatory
- Sanctions
- Modern Slavery
- Retail & eCommerce
- Industry specific regulations
